Institutional Innovation

Institutions impose elements of order in the context where they operate and they affect the distribution of preferences, incentives, and outcomes among people. A better understanding of the constraints imposed by institutions on people’s behavior and personal satisfaction can allow governments and legislatures to prioritize interventions for institutional innovation. Current projects include direct democracy and U.S. ballot measures studies, Mozambican migration studies, financial decentralization in Jordan and political reform in Portugal.
